Chapter 8 Memory
Theory
Research into memory takes place at a variety of levels of analysis. Often there is initial conflict within each level, but this is usually resolved eventually.
Method
Diverse insider, outsider, neuropsychological, neurophysiological, computer modelling, experimentation.
Ecological validity can be a problem (but see what I said on the chapter 7 page).
Themes
Humanness vs. "computerness"?
Fixity and change.
Nature and nurture not just interaction but interdependence. (I like the old analogous question in response to the nature or nurture debate: what's more important to a rectangle, the width or the height?)
