Girls are required to study on their own for about the same amount of time as they spend in class.
The type of homework set varies depending on the class activities currently taking place. It ranges from extended essays, critical analysis of published work, preparation for debates, revising for class tests and assembling information for presentations.
Essay assignments are initially accompanied by advice and a reading list (for an example, click here), although as girls become more skilled is carrying out research, this is gradually withdrawn.
